Any good painter will take care of any caulking that needs to be done for you, so do not worry about getting out your caulking gun before the painters come over. Ambassador Painting uses only quality caulk in our preparations for painting your home.
Paint supplies like tape, masking paper, drop sheets, rollers, paint brushes, buckets, grids, plastic, test patch color samples add approximately 20% to the calculated paint gallon cost. Also, if you don’t have sanding pads, scrapers, drywall compound, or other prep materials, add another 10% to the above cost.
Many products boast a 2-in-1 “paint and primer” label, but that name is misleading. “Paint and primers” don’t actually have any primer in the mix. They’re just thicker paints, and they aren’t anywhere near as effective as a combination of separate paints and primers.
It’s just about impossible to keep your floors free of paint drops. But a good canvas or cotton drop cloth will do a better job than plastic sheets. Paint drops stay wet after they fall on plastic and you can track a single drop all around your house. Cloth drop sheets also stay in place better, they aren’t as slippery as plastic and they are safer for ladders.
